than gold. Second, silver tends to oxidize. Furthermore, Ag nanopar- ticles exhibit the highest efficiency of plasmon excitation. Among the various shapes of AgNPs, triangular Ag nanoprisms/nanoplates are very promising for various applications [9,15].
The goal of this work was to design a simple, cost-effective, easy- to-use assay for H2O2. Based on the reaction of Ag and H2O2, the Ag nanoplates are etched from triangle to round by H2O2, and the
conversion of Ag nanoplates to Ag+ leads to a sensitive color change
from blue to mauve, providing a colorimetric approach for the ultra- sensitive detection of H2O2. Here we realized the detection of H2O2 as low as 1.36 nM. The triangle Ag nanoplates based colorimetric method holds great promises in clinical applications.
