As you know, there is Seven Wonders of the World but I think there is one more. That is Venice! I have been to Venice before. This place was so fascinating.

To tell you the truth; Venice is the most mysterious place in the world. It is different from other cities in the world. Venice is the island city which is located on 118 small islands. It is in the eastern part of Italy and near the Adriatic Sea. In Venice; there are 170 waterways which separate the islands and there are 400 bridges which connect the islands.

Venice has become one of the most important trade centers in Europe for years. Its population is about 72.000. Most people in Venice earn their life from tourism. That is why everything in Venice is more expensive as against the other part of Italy.

When you look around, you can see narrow streets in water, small bridges, high buildings… The depth of water is about 150 cm. Base of the buildings was composed of piles so it is very amazing fact that those buildings composed of piles have been very strong for years. There is no car in Venice. There are only boats. Police car is a boat, ambulance is a boat; there are water taxis; they are also boat! Can you imagine that there is no traffic jam or there is no any traffic stress? So there is fresh air. I think Venetian people will live longer than us!

When you walk in the street, you feel that you will be lost in the maze-like streets of the world. The buildings so close to each other. They have small windows. In front of the windows, there are flowerpots. They make the buildings look nice. There are also some mask shops in Venice because Venice is famous for masks. These shops attract many tourists’ attention because of beautiful masks. You can get on gondolas to wander around.

In terms of meal, you can taste delicious pizzas, Italian ice-cream and pasta with delicious sauce.

Venice can be a small city but there are many things to tell about it. So if you want to know about Venice, you should go there and live Venice! Words fail to tell about it!
