0826 GMT Activity in Spain's services sector grew slightly more rapidly in October than in the previous month, an indication that the third-quarter slowdown is unlikely to herald a marked change of trend in what has been one of the eurozone's brightest spots during the last 18 months. Markit's PMI for the sector rose to 55.9 from 55.1, and activity is likely to continue to grow at a similar pace, with new orders once again picking up and businesses hiring additional staff. For the European Central Bank, the good news was that businesses raised their prices, a hint that Spain may be starting a slow journey back to inflation. (paul.hannon@wsj.com Twitter: @PaulHannon29)
