However, the self-absorption should strongly effect the spectrum
of only nitrogen component. Apparently, poorly known
redistribution of intensities of different transitions is typical for
TL of Dy3+.
The composition of atmosphere surrounding a crystal was
shown to strongly influence on the TL of lanthanides [13,16,17].
For example, TL intensity increased strongly when purged with
inert gases compared with air. In addition, the typical lines of inert
gases appeared in the TL spectrum [16,17,21]. The luminescence of
the OD and OH radicals was recorded at TL of cerium and terbium
sulfate crystallohydrates [13,17].
