This study aimed 1) to construct the reading comprehension exercises based on Englishness newspapers and magazines using task-based approach based on the 75/75 efficiency criterion and 2) to study the reading achievement of reading comprehension of mathayomsueksa 4 students based on English newspapers and magazines using task-based approach. The sample group of this research was randomly selected 30 mathayomsueksa 4 students of Yannawate Wittayakom School, Bangkok Metropolis. The research tools consist of 1) five English lesson plans; 2) five developed reading comprehension exercises based on English newspapers and magazines using task-based approach; and 3) a reading achievement test, used as protest and post test. The mean, standard deviation and percentage were used to analyze the data in order to assess the students' reading achievement before and after using the reading comprehension exercises. The results were 1) The developed reading comprehension exercises based on English newspapers and magazines using task-based approach were efficient at 75.07/78.22 meeting the set criterion of 75/75. 2) The students' achievement scores were significantly higher at .05level.
