The Hulusi
The Hulusi, or the cucurbit flute, is free-reed aerophone who is played amongst the Tai in Burma near Yunnan China. Other minorities in the same area, use the instrument to communicate when working in the fields. The Tai people call the instrument a "Bilingdao"
Traditionally the Tai men would play the Hulusi to express love and courtship songs toward a woman in particular. The Hulisi is also rarely played in ensembles.
