Conclusions
Taking into consideration several prognostic factors,
a reduced set of parameters with a significant influence
on the survival probability of melanoma patients in clinical
Stage I has been established.
Based on these parameters it is possible to make a
prognostic forecast for the individual patient. In our
opinion it is an important procedure as it gives the clinician
the possibility of defining a group of patients who
need a more aggressive treatment and it helps him to
adjust properly costly follow-up. Finally, the presented
method makes it possible to carry out a basic research
on selected and comparable groups of patients in order
to develop new treatment modalities.
