The party is at a guy named Yixing’s place. Jongin’s seen him around Kyungsoo’s friends once or twice, he’s the one that comes over in roller skates and always looks like he’s sleepy. Luhan comes pick him up at 9 and drives them there – Yixing’s apartment is really small, Jongin questions how that diminished place can allocate so many people inside.
“This place is really small.” Jongin astonishes and Luhan hums, hooking an arm around his shoulder.
“There’s the guys,” Luhan indicates a corner not far from them where a few of Luhan’s friends stand. Jongin recognizes the Yixing guy and a black haired boy with a cat-like mouth and sharp eyes. Amongst them is Chanyeol, perfectly dressed in one of his sleeveless punk rock bands t-shirt, black oversized jersey shorts and conveniently placed snapbacks. Jongin sighs, trying to convince himself he didn’t come to this goddamned place because of Chanyeol; his presence at this party has nothing to do with Chanyeol. Nothing.
Before he knows Luhan is pushing him towards the group, and Jongin wants to run. He removes the other’s arm from himself and stops on his heels, earning a frown from Luhan when he turns to face Jongin.
“What’s wrong?”
“Uh…” Jongin looks around, forcing his brain to think of a plausible excuse. “I’m not sure if it’s a good idea for me to go over there, hyung.”
“What are you talking about?”
He scratches his neck. “Well…”
“Is it because of Chanyeol?” there’s a hint of a smile on Luhan’s lips. “Why are you blushing, Jongin-ah?”
Jongin closes his eyes and suddenly this whole party seems like the dumb move Sehun mentioned. “You know what? Forget it hyung, thank you for picking me up. I’ll go home now.”
“Wait, Jongin!” Luhan’s voice is too far already as Jongin leaves through the door.
