Conclusions as to thebest packaging material for shell eggs must be limited tothe package types tested. Only the truck-simulationvibration test was performed and, as other stresses arepresent during shipping and transportation, these otherfactors should be considered to determine the optimalpackage systems used to minimize shell egg breakage. The results do indicate that the primary and secondarypackaging combinations are important considerationswhen attempting to minimize eggshell damage.
