Please follow the below calculation:
Entire company employee turnover:
Total turnover rate = Total number of terminations for the year / Average number of employees during the year * 100. E.g., if 35 employees left out of 500 company employees, then the employee total turnover is 35/500 = 7%.
Voluntary turnover rate = number of voluntary terminations for the year / Average number of employees during the year * 100. Please note that voluntary turnover should not include those incumbents whose employment was terminated for the following reasons: fired, transferred within the organization, downsized or deceased.
Management population turnover:
Under management population please include Executives/Senior/Middle Management and Seasoned Professionals.
Total turnover rate = Total number of management terminations for the year / Average number of managers during the year * 100. E.g., if 2 managers left out of 20 management population, then the management total turnover is 2/20 = 10%.
Voluntary turnover rate = number of voluntary management terminations for the year / Average number of managers during the year * 100. Please note that voluntary turnover should not include those managers whose employment was terminated for the following reasons: fired, transferred within the organization, downsized or deceased.
