Ontology is the basis for a context-aware content description of
knowledge sources. The notion of ontology as a formally specified
conceptualization shared by a community of practice is now well
established and has been used and applied for several years,
including knowledge management, knowledge acquisition, information
retrieval and extraction, knowledge engineering and
knowledge modeling. With the appropriate use of ontology, a
knowledge management system (KMS) can provide concept-based
contents rather than key-word based contents
