Leadership role will impact productivity of employees in an organization. Gardner [Gar90]
defines leadership as the process of influencing others to achieve a task by providing purpose,
direction and motivation. Hence it is necessary for organizations to promote a positive, inclusive
culture and a supportive leadership. Leadership is a process whereby one person exerts influence
over another in an attempt to guide, facilitate activities, influence and develop relationships in a
team or in an organization. Nevertheless, there are differences in opinion among scholars over a
number of leadership aspects, such as who exerts the influence, the manner in which the
influence is exerted, the intended beneficiary of the influence and the outcome of the influence
attempted. There are various types of leadership such as explained by the literature review done
by past researchers, however, we analyse some of the leadership role in the present that will help
into positive effectiveness of the performance of employees at workplace in the organization and
to drive them to positive performance of the organization, as such, authentic leader are examined
as this type of leaders understood to know the goals for the future, clear about the importance of
those goals and show great integrity in how they conduct themselves by carrying out their
leadership duties and activities. This concerns a leader’s ability to formulate and communicate a
