The present meta-analysis of the included studies indicates that performing a CA induces small PAPE effects in the BPT performance in resistance-trained men. Moreover, the obtained data suggest that the magnitude of enhancement depends on moderating variables of potentiation complexes, and that they should be considered collectively. These results may be of great practical significance for athletes and coaches of explosive sport disciplines, providing valuable information regarding the optimal range of each variable of potentiation complexes. Individuals seeking to acutely improve their BPT performance should consider preceding them with a single set of the BP exercise at moderate intensity (60–84% 1RM), performed 5–7min before the explosive activity.
