There are other examples which may be taken into consideration,
such as establishing a mining area Mutěnín with a surface
area of 12.40 ha producing up to 100,000 t/year of raw feldspar
(2013, open-pit, rock materials) which in Slovakia and in the Czech
Republic (according to the combined EIA procedure for a new
mining area and for its exploitation) requires mandatory EIA. In
Poland and Hungary, the project would undergo pre-selection. On
the contrary, when considering opening of a coal mine with typical
parameters for the Upper Silesian Coal Basin: production capacity
of 2–4 million t/year, depth of location of coal beds 700–1100 m
below the surface, it would appear that such a project requires
mandatory EIA procedures in all the V4 countries.
