The HDI is a summary measure of human development in
three dimensions of educational attainment, per capita income to
maintain decent standard of living and health status (life expectancy).
Per capita income is one of the most important socioeconomic
parameters that reflect the nutritional status of the
arsenic pollution affected people indirectly. The severity of
arsenicosis cases depends on nutritional status of the affected
people. As arsenic pollution is concerned with human health, so
it affects the HDI.
