Only 43 percent of the companies surveyed are either considering or
piloting/implementing RFID technology (as compared to 56 percent of the companies in
the 2004 study. Out of this 43 percent, 42 percent of the companies are considering RFID
technology (75 percent in 2004), 31 percent of the companies are pilot testing RFID
(17 percent in 2004) and 27 percent of the companies are implementing or have already
implemented the technology (8 percent in 2004) as is shown in Figure
