2.9.4. Ferrous ion-chelating ability assay
Ferrous ions (Fe2+) chelating activity of different concentrations (0.15–20 mg/mL) of EOs samples was measured by inhibiting the formation of Fe2+-ferrozine complex after treatment of test material with Fe2+, following the method of Carter (1971). The results were expressed in % of chelating effect as mean of three replicates.
