12). While COS and NAc-COS completely inhibited the growth of
P. aeruginosa ATCC 27853 after exposure times of 2.5 h and 3.5 h,
respectively (Figs. 9and10), the required time for complete inhibition
of P. melaninogenica was 4 h and 6 h for COS and NAc-COS respectively.

reported on the antimicrobial activity of water-soluble chitosan
oligomers with different molecular weights ranging from Mv of 1 to
10 kDa and DD from 77 to 82%.
