To avoid long extraction times (12–24 h) in refluxing procedure,
sonication was used for intensification of extraction process in
terms of time (15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 min). Depending on extraction
times, the obtained pectin yields for first UAE step, at temperatures
of 60 and 80 C are 15.2–17.2% and 16.3–18.5%, respectively. From
presented results, it could be concluded that UAE has smaller effect
on pectin yield compared with CE. However, a significant difference
is observed between times using for UAE.
