He shall, however, work in conjunction with a lawyer who is registered to a Cantonal Register of Lawyers for the pursuit of activities relating to the mandatory assistance by a lawyer (Article 23 FAFML) However, following the judgement of the Court of Justice of the European Union in the case Commission v Germany, the obligation to work in conjunction with a domestic lawyer does not mean that the domestic lawyer has to represent the client.
