Heaters force collected water moleculesout of the desiccant. Heated moisture rich air flows past refrigerated surfaces to condense water vapor and convert it to liquid
water. Desiccants that do not change chemically or physically
when water vapor is added are called adsorbents. In contrast,
absorbents undergo chemical or physical changes when they
absorb water. Usually, adsorbents are solids while absorbents
are liquids (ASHRAE, 2002).
