A perceptual disparity between the recruiters and students
in the levels of importance ascribed to the employability
skills will have an impact on the recruitment and
selection of the right candidate. Employers may be struggling
to find and retain good employees. They may prioritize
skills that are not central to students, thereby
affecting their efforts to secure graduates who fit the job
environment. On the other hand, students do not have an
accurate expectation of job skills and fail to recognize the
degree of competence that required of them, will not be
able to secure an employment.
