The Mysterious Sound
Have you ever experience a paranormal activity? Last holiday, my friends and I decided to go to Kanchanaburi. It was not too far from Bangkok, so our parents allowed us to go by ourselves. We arrived at the resort in the evening. As soon as we saw the houseboat, we rushed into it to store our luggage and ran out to the terrace. We looked around carefully and realized that we were surrounded by clear water and green mountains. It was a wonderful and fascinating place. When the sun was setting down, the sky turned dark. Nobody knew that there was something waiting for us at night.
The next morning, we enjoyed rafting and spending time in nature. The sun was shining on the emerald river making it sparkled beautifully. I was so delighted that I did not want to go home. When the night had come, this breathtaking environment changed drastically. After dinner, my friends and I went back to our room. We decided to have a small party, so we could enjoy ourselves with drinks, snacks, and good music. It was loud but not loud enough to bother the neighbors. While we were lost in music, someone knocked on our door. However, we did not care about it until the knocking sound was louder and louder; we looked at each other. Suddenly, the door was opened. My friend walked to close the door, but she did not see anyone. A few minutes later, the knocking was louder again, but this time it came from the four walls of our boathouse! We were certain that there was no sound of footsteps at all. I held my friends’ hands tightly. I could hear their heavy breath as well. Once the mysterious sound died down, I called the manager and told her about the haunting situation. The manager sent a receptionist to check, and he told us, “There is nothing suspicious.” That night we could not sleep because we were so scared; as for me, I really wanted to go home. Next morning, we hurriedly packed our luggage and checked out as quickly as possible.
The secret knocking sound made us scared because we did not know who or what did it. Nobody could prove it, so it has haunted us to this day. We learned that if we would like to go anywhere, we should go with our parents or someone older because we do not know what to do in this kind of situation. We also learn to be more considerate and careful because other people or ghosts may not share the same taste in music like us.
