3.1. Data collection and samples
Global manufacturing is increasingly taking place in Asia particularly
for the electronics industry. Manufacturing growth creates
numerous opportunities, as well as a substantial environmental
burden (Rao, 2002). The countries from which firms produce and
package goods and services significantly impact corporate environmental
activities (Gupta, 1995; Schot and Fischer, 1993). Notably, the
Taiwanese electronics industry is a global leader. This study thus
focuses on motives and antecedents of green purchasing behavior in
Taiwanese electronics manufacturing firms.
The questionnaire survey tests the hypotheses and conceptual
model. This study selects listed electronics manufacturing firms in
Taiwan as sample firms to avoid samples with relatively little green
