Beauty and personal care slightly slowed in current value growth during 2013 as compared to 2012. This was attributed to the unstable political situation and the slow economic conditions in Thailand that affected consumers’ confidence. On the other hand, consumers were more conscious about their image, and thus increasingly willing to invest in beauty and personal care products to enhance their overall grooming. Manufacturers were also keen in launching new products during 2013 so as to better tap into this opportunity.
