STRONG GROWTH IN ASIA FOR COMVITA
Strong growth in Asian markets has helped to offset
downturns in Comvita‟s traditional markets in Europe and
Australia, said CE Brett Hewlett at the launch of Comvita‟s
2013 annual report. Asian markets now account for 44%
of Comvita‟s sales, with strong demand in Hong Kong,
China and South Korea. Brett said “Comvita‟s brand
awareness and premium image among the Asian
community has been built from a base of visitors to New
Zealand dating back almost 40 years. Visitors who buy
Comvita products here go on to become loyal customers
when they return home.” In China alone there are now 38
dedicated Comvita retail stores and Comvita products are
sold in 400 retail outlets across the country. These stores
have seen a 75% increase in sales on the previous year.
