Fruit cracking occurred during rapid aril growth in Stage
II (Fig. 5). In 2004–2005, fruit cracking incidence was significantly
higher in off-season longan than in on-season longan
(27.6% vs 10.9%). However, in 2007–2008 with higher humidity
during fruit growth, fruit cracking incidence was negligible
(below 3%) in both on- and off-season longans (results not
shown).
