We are able to identify destructive organizational dynamics within the Marshall space Flight Center a typical organizational pathway that can lead to administrative evil when no one intends evil. The absence of evil intentions is another hallmark of administrative evil as it manifests in organizations. The defensive organizational culture at the Marshall Space Flight Center, which was quite functional under the leadership of Wernher von Braun, became destructive as the environment surrounding it become less favorable and as its leadership turned in a punitive direction.
