6. Safety & Health Orientation for Truck Operators
Purpose
To ensure a good awareness in safety and health. All necessary information shall be passed
down to truck drivers during this program.
The following information shall be delivered during the safety and health orientation program.
• Truck driver’s duties and responsibility.
• How to maintain the truck to in safe running condition.
• Contents of Company, HSE, Quality and Truck Policy.
• Basic Traffic Police, JPJ, and MIROS rules and regulation.
• Clients requirement and expectation.
• How to react during an emergency (example, chemical spillage, truck breakdown, accident).
• Responsibility of a truck driver as per Occupational Safety & Health Act 1967.
• How to load and unload material safely.
• Compliance to personal protective equipment (PPE) and truck driver’s attire.
• Misuse of drugs and alcohol.
• Journey and fatigue management.
• Transportation of chemical and dangerous goods.
• CSE truck operator safety orientation pass book.
