Effects of Warm-up on Swimming Skillsup
The element of warm up before swimming is designed to preparewarm-up
the muscles or the beginning of the major parts of a work out (Whitten,work-out
1994). Warm-up exercises for swimming include tasks such asup
stretching, kick-pull-drill, swimming an easy 100 m, practice strokes,drill,
timed swim and sprints. They are done in order to increase the body’s
temperature, heart rate, blood pressure and energy producing enzyme
activity making the body ready for strenuous work. These warmwarm-ups do
not only get the body ready but the mind as well.
