In what concerns Eucalyptus globulus bark, it is a high volumeresidue in the Portuguese pulp and paper industry, but also incountries such as Spain, Brazil and Chile [30], and it is normallyburned to generate power. Several promising compounds havebeen identified in this waste material, particularly a fraction of triterpenic acids (TTAs), like ursolic, oleanolic, and betulinic acids[31,32], for which remarkable bioactivity has been confirmed [33].
