Phu Kradueng National Park
Phu Kradueng National Park is the second national park in Thailand. It situates in Si Than Sub-District, Phu Kradueng District, Loei Province, This is considered as the place with many wild animals, forests and canals that are the sources of foods. It is a highland with cold weather for the whole year. During the winter, the temperature may be reduced to zero degree Celsius. Thus, it is one of popular tourist attractions for Thai and foreign tourists since it persuades the tourists to experience the beautiful nature and climb the mountain. Climbing the mountain by foot through different levels is a way to study the nature. To climb to the top of the mountain, the tourists have to “conquer” the mountain. It is a challenge for climbing the mountain in order to see the beautiful nature at its top.
It takes about 8,800 meter. To reach the top, it is similar to walking up stairs. There are shops along the route to the top. Each part of the route has unique name such as Sam Haek, Sam Ko Sak, Sak Kok Done and Sam Krae. “Congratulation to Phu Kradueng Conqueror” is the sign for taking photographs at the top of the mountain. It is also a slogan reflecting endurance and determination to reach the destination. At the top, there are tourist service center, campsite and luggage point. The tourists who have many luggage can use the luggage delivery service that is called as “Look Hab”. The service charge is 30 baht per kilogram. The place for seeing the sunrise on the mountain is called as “Pha Nok Ann or Swallow Cliff”. Seeing the sunrise at this cliff is very impressive. Hence, Phu Kradueng has become a legend for tourists since the past.
The high season is during 1st October – 31st May of every year.
Transportation: Take the bus between Bangkok – Loei from Mo Chit (Bangkok Bus Terminal) to Pha Nok Khao. Take the minibus to Phu Kradueng National Park Office.
