Building upon the huge body of knowledge available about the functions of the mystacial vibrissae on the one hand and the functions of the forelimb on the other, the present study aims to explore covariation in spatiotemporal motion parameters between the two systems. If tactile information received from the mystacialvibrissae influences positional control of the forelimb, we predictin the absence of this information firstly a reduction of covaria-tion in frequencies and phase relationships, and secondly a changeor at least an increase in variation in forelimb placement relativeto the body
