This is a misrepresentation of blindsight, which has nothing to do with a sixth sense or seeing emotions. Blindsight occurs in people who are blind due to damage in the occipital lobe (visual cortex) rather than in the eyes. The eyes work fine, the brain does not process the information normally. SOME information is still processed. There's nothing magical about this, it's simple brain physiology. The person's perception is that they can't see but their brain still receives information.
