As can be seen from the foregoing results, the feeding of whole wheat has numerous beneficial effects in broiler chicken
nutrition. It is also evident, however, that the relevant reports are often contradictory and there are hardly any published
results on certain physiological and nutritional issues. Therefore, our aim was to conduct an experiment to study the effect
of whole wheat incorporated into pelleted diets on the growth performance of broilers as well as on the morphology and
functions of the digestive system. From these results the optimal proportion of whole wheat supplemented to pelleted diets
was tried to be predicted. The influence of feeding whole wheat on the digestibility of certain nutrients and on caecal function
will be reported in a forthcoming paper
