“Go Frank!” You call out, sending the bird into his habitat. Quickly you rush forward, snapping out your wand and enchanting the area to close itself and hide the creature. You realize in that moment what you have to do. You take off running, enchanting each enclosure you pass.
By the time you’re nearing the back of the case you’re panting and you know you’re being chased. The mooncalves bob their heads at you before you block off their environment. One left, you just have one left. You’re too late.
“Expelliarmus!” Your wand flies from your hand and you whip around. Four aurors dressed in long trench coats. You swallow. You go to move - “Immobulus!” You’re frozen, you send a heated glare to one of the aurors who comes to drag you back towards the start of the case. You would fight if not for the fact you weren’t charmed into not moving. That does little to stop you from calling them every horrible word you know in Mandarin.
You’re dragged out of the case, dead weight in the hands of two aurors. You’re in a room, four concrete walls and only one door, a man stands in front of it, black hair graying at the sides, scorpion pins on his collar. Something about him makes you give an involuntary shiver. The two aurors that aren’t holding you go to the man and whisper something in his ears. He nods and dismisses them with a careful wave of his hand, he waves off the two on your sides as well, causing you to drop to your knees against the hard floor, you hiss out in pain.
They pass by the man shrouded in black, taking Newt’s case with them. They give him your wand before leaving through the door. It shuts behind them and then it’s just you and the man. He waves his hand and suddenly you’re free of the charm you’d been under. Hesitantly, you stand. The man looks at your wand before slipping it into his jacket pocket. You want to tell him he can’t just do that but you know, wherever it is you are, he can.
