Designing reverse logistics into their overall processes is an important task for many industries. This is particularly true for the electronics industry because of their short product life cycle and environmental regulations. An industry can enhance efficiency and increase value recovery by making its reverse logistics operations lean. The objectives of lean reverse logistics are to reduce recovery time, cutback the costs of recovery as well as disposal, increase recovered value, and lessen environmental impacts. This paper discusses a lean reverse logistics design process that focuses on reducing and eliminating non-value added activities for the electronics industry
