The experienced Thais led from start to finish, playing with composure and a variety of tactics that the powerful Japanese could not match
The first set was the closest, going to the Thai women 25-22. After that it was really no contest, with the hosts overpowering their opponents 25-18, 25-17.Power on offense; determination on defence The Thais were on top in every aspect of the game, mixing power with deception on offense and determination on defence giving the taller Japanese few easy shots. As the match went on their confidence grew. With their experience and skill and there was no chance they would crack under pressure The winning team gives thanks to their fans, many of who waiting six hours or more for tickets.
The country has a lot to learn from the performance of the Thai women volleyballers. It was a mix hard work, extensive preparation a solid strategy strong fan support and, above all, teamwork. There is no single superstar on the team although the Thais do have some world-class athletes. Above all, it was a great example of flawless teamwork.
