Several experimental techniques can be applied to the analysis
of the spray evolution, among which imaging, Doppler-effectbased
optical techniques (e.g. Phase Doppler Anemometry), single
jet momentum flux measurement (e.g. [5–7]). Despite the relevance
of spray studies, the injection systems hydraulic behavior
in terms of fuel metering accuracy and injection rate (IR) control
capability is undoubtedly a key parameter in controlling the spray
formation and evolution and hence the combustion process
