a local confinement factor for
populations with moderate migration
rates [7]. Moreover, the single locus
system has two other advantages: first,
the release of wild-type males into an
established transgenic (heterozygous)
population causes a dramatic
population decline, which could be
used as a mosquito control measure
similar to SIT in addition to the
refractoriness to disease transmission.
Second, after such an induced
