I love watching a good mystery thriller.
There is something about the slow and deliberate movement of the plot with new characters to meet, new clues to ponder, and new motives to evaluate, that makes it not only a challenge but a joy to discover the final truth.
When I was a younger believer, I often thought it would be easier to believe in God if I had lived in the time of Jesus.
If I had witnessed those miracles, then surely I would have been more devoted than even His closest disciples.
Truth be told, we have a revelation that is far greater than any of the miracles Jesus performed.
We have the miracle of God’s Word, which reveals to us who God is and why He came and unveils His plan.
The collection of accounts in this book all point to a grander narrative that supersedes all others.
What is also amazing is that, although the Bible was written by forty different authors over thousands of years, there is an integrated consistency throughout that can only point to a supernatural authorship.
We have met all the characters and have been given all the clues. We are watching the plot unfold and no longer have to evaluate motives.
God’s love and God’s glory are all that matters and, like the apostles of old, that is what we are to live and die for.
