Apart from these reduced opportunities, or maybe
because of them, minority members may be more likely to have less positive attitudes
towards the job than employees who belong to the majority group (e.g., De Vries &
Pettigrew, 1998; Morrison & Von Glinow, 1990). However, whether this is directly due to
unequal treatment or the lack of communication that may be a result of their minority
status, remains to be seen. In this study we will investigate the relationship between
unequal treatment, content-related communication, and job attitudes among ethnic
minority and majority employees in a large company.
