maybe this is just me as i am a biased fan, but... well, many accounts from co-workers--OLDER co-workers says that Yamada is mature and knows how to communicate well with older co-workers. they said he's very natural with talking to them and that they (the older co-workers) feel like they're talking to a much older guy than a teenage Yamada when conversing with him (these accounts were during their high school years).
which goes to show that maybe he wasn't exactly intimidated by her [maturity] so to say, but maybe other things. maybe because she's big in the industry? or probably just because she's a girl (and we all know Yamada is awkward with girls, if they aren't his sisters)--or more likely, he finally realize she is a girl--woman, now. i guess as kids they treat her as one of the boys. in their interview during TGQ renzoku, both Yamada and Kamiki mentioned that for them the biggest thing that changed in Mirai is that her hair grew long (first time they realize she's a girl, I think) and in high schoo
l, well, Mirai in high school had dramas like Himitsu and Bull Doctor
Interestingly, the same applied to Mirai who has been mentioned by many artistes who she worked with as a youth who know how to draw the line between seniors and juniors. In fact she is so respected that many older artistes started calling her teacher or Ace, citing that she is most the most reliable one during filming with no NGs at all.
Hmmm... They must have talked somehow.... otherwise he won't list Mirai as one of his friends so openly on TV and to say that out I would think that they are very close.... While we know how down to earth Mirai chan is, I think the fact that she's one of the biggest name of their age can make Yama-chan worry on how he can reconnect with his former co-star... He did note that Mirai chan has became mature, so he can be worried about how Mirai chan sees him now.... Awww.... It's always those who matters most that make one scare to approach... XP
