Consequently the library has subscribed “Science Online” from 2008 by paying Rs
1.20 lakhs in 2008 and Rs 1.48 in 2009 from library funds in addition to print journal.
The academic value of the journal is further justified by the exorbitant increase of
article downloads (6,908) at the rate of 1.56 per cent (see Table V). The other three
search databases discontinued by the consortium: biological abstracts, J-gate and
Ingenta were not reconsidered by the library, since their usage in the university is
highly discouraging.
