Capacitive character of load circuit was chosen for analysis of current breaking capability under increased transient voltage and in consequence increased risk of restrikes occurrence. It permitted to check system resistance on flashover occurrence. Arcing time elongation affected increased nozzle material gassing (Tab. 3). Two sensor locations were selected for the tests – at the gassing nozzle and at the cylinder below the fixed contacts and responsible for air flow
(Fig. 2). Measurement of summary gas pressure being a result of forced air flow and nozzle material gassing was realized by sensor located at the nozzle wall. Analysis of the gas backflow into the cylinder, expected during arc ignition was realized by the sensor installed at the cylinder.
