Fig. 6 presents the storage modulus (E0), loss modulus (E00), and loss tangent (tan d) for neat epoxy and epoxy composites.
Both the E0 (Fig. 6a) and E00 (Fig. 6b) curves do not reveal sensible differences owing to bagasse fiber addition. However, the
more accentuated tan d peak for the neat epoxy (Fig. 6c) indicates that the pure resin, as expected [37], has a higher damping
capacity. It can be speculated that bagasse fibers restrict the mobility of the epoxy polymeric chain, which contributes to the
composite stiffness.
