may have potential as an antimicrobial coating to improve microbiological
safety and quality of cantaloupes. Therefore, the objectives of this
study were to 1) study the effects of alginate coatings with CBO on the
survival of inoculated bacterial pathogens and the natural mycoflora
on cantaloupe rinds, and 2) evaluate the effect of coatings on the quality
of cantaloupes.
