The mean (SD) consumption of servings day–1 of the
group of meat, fish and eggs [3.2 (1.5) servings day–1]
was appropriate and even slightly higher than the recommended
servings (2–3 servings day–1). Nevertheless,
it was observed that the mean (SD) servings of fish
[0.89 (0.90) servings day–1] and eggs [0.32 (0.34) servings
day–1] were not adequate (Table 1), demonstrating
that 61.9% of the participants consumed less than one
serving of fish day–1 and 94.2% consumed less than
one serving of eggs day–1.
