Although an antiquated technology, the light bulb is still deeply imbricated with our quotidian lives. In Room Dynamics, the light bulb both recalls its ostensible function and – through aesthetic transformation – transcends it. By “awakening” these familiar objects in a manner that subverts their conventional use, renewed attention can then be directed towards their energetic performance and reconfigured individual agencies and group behaviours. Thus, the object is re- examined from both sensory and conceptual perspectives.
