•To fully understand Gandhi’s leadership style and influence, we must
understand (1) “generic” Hinduism: ahimsa (อหิงสา), karma yoga (กฎแหงกรรม ่ ),
satyagraha (อารยะขดขั ืน civil disobedience), and (2) the conflicting fundamental
between Hinduism and Isalam.
•Hinduism argues that all humanity is travelling toward the same ultimate
religious goal. However, the paths to that goal are different for individuals and
for groups. Many yoga are available for the devout (ผ้ศรู ัทธา).
•Turks and other people of west-central Asia plague India to this day with their
Islamic religion, which promoted separateness and rightness derived from one
sacred book, the Koran, dictated by God to the final prophet, Mohammed.
Notehere that Islam was often militantly intolerant of religious differences for the
“kafir” (unbeliever), but more egalitarian at the practical social level for the
believers.
(** ahimsa = non-violence, ** yoga = discipline or law, sataya = truth สัตยะ)
